Sam’s Pets Terms and Conditions

Sam’s Pets is a service provider for pet care needs. It is a registered company name and is fully insured with public liability insurance. Sam’s Pets Services(further written ‘We’) provide pet sitting or other pet care services privately in exchange for payment. Prices are available on request and are variable due to the nature of the work. We (Sam’s Pets) are not liable for any incidences that may occur that are out of our control. We strive to provide excellent quality care to your pets and we are open to discuss strategies and plans to best suit our individual clients needs.

The following terms and conditions apply to all clients and are agreed upon prior to any work undertaken. As we are working with live animals we are all aware that there is a chance for accidents to happen out of our control. This is why we MUST have your pets vet details and we MUST have your full consent to take your pet straight to their respective vet in the case of a serious incident. Any vets bills incurred will be solely the responsibility of the client. Any and all known health conditions must be disclosed to us, prior to any agreement, any withheld information can cause serious problems for your pets and can impede our ability to provide top quality care.

All payments due will be paid in full up front, or otherwise, as agreed when signing the contract. The contract is a legal document between you, the client and us, Sam's pet services. We reserve the right to make changes as we see fit. You will be notified of any changes that may affect you with plenty of opportunity to cancel our services should you wish to do so. Each job will hold its own contract and every contract is legally binding. If any of our policies, prices or procedures change mid contract, the change wont affect you until we start a new contract. Some jobs may be done on rolling contracts, all will be discussed and agreed upon on the initial meeting.

Initial consultations will be free and in the clients own home at a time that suits both parties. WE MUST MEET WITH YOUR PETS. We reserve the right to deny our services to any client, for any reason, at our own discretion. You, the client, are not obliged to engage in our services after this initial meeting, nor are we, Sam's Pet Services, obliged to provide our services to you. No work will be carried out without a contract in place to ensure that all parties are protected. Direct money transfer to the company bank account is the preferred method of payment.

Anyone living more than fifteen minutes from Navan town centre will incur a diesel charge on top of the basic/calculated service rate. Failure to pay will result in end of service and possible legal action. Any signs of aggression towards me, from any pets, or clients will result in cessation of services and any money due, up to that point, will be paid up in full. Charges will only be made against work that was actually completed. We will not charge you for work not done, in the event of an aggression incidence NOR WILL WE RETURN TO WORK FOR YOU. You will be held liable for any injuries incurred by us, as a result of you or your pets being aggressive towards us as per Irish laws.

A next of kin person is highly advised, in the extraordinary event of us not being able to attend your property to provide our services. This next of kin person should be informed of their roll of standby person, they should have their own key or access and should be familiar with the animal/s in question. This is a safety back up only and they will never be contacted/used under normal working conditions. They must be informed by you the client that you are sharing their number with us and that we may call them in the unlikely event of them being needed. If there is no possible next of kin, you must consent to a trusted colleague of mine attending in my place should I be completely incapacitated for some very unlikely reason. This is only necessary for longer periods of holiday blocks of pet sitting.

For Dog Walking jobs, no more than two dogs will be walked at any one time under any circumstances. All dogs will be kept on their lead at all times. If the client can provide a fully secured area for the dogs to run off-lead then we will allow the dogs to roam off lead but any injuries or incidences that occur will be solely at the clients risk and liability.

All keys, codes or any other private information/property belonging to the client, will be kept in the strictest confidence to protect their private/property. GDPR is taken very seriously here and we believe that your pets deserve the same level of privacy as any person. We will never disclose any information or use any images of your animals without your express consent.

When we enter your private property, our sole purpose is to provide care to your pets. We will require access to a sink to wash our hands, and access to clean running water, the pets food, their substrate, cleaning items, bedding, any other pet related paraphernalia and disposal bins. Any other instructions, such as turning on/off lights, closing curtains, taking in post are considered added extras, and will be recorded in the contract. We are happy to provide reasonable added extras, so long as it doesn't impede our ability to provide top quality care to your pets. Your pets are the primary reason we are calling to your home and any thing such as taking bins out, will be done as a secondary or tertiary objective and may or may not be fully completed, depending on the situation of the day.

It is preferred if the clients have security cameras turned on and recording. We will treat every house as if there are cameras recording us on the property at all times and the clients are not obligated to inform us of any cameras. This gives us all a better sense of security and benefits all parties.

Cancellation Policy: Booking of holiday slots are subject to a 25% payment fee that is non refundable. More regular jobs, such as regular dog walking can be cancelled on occasion without incurring a penalty, but every situation will be treated for its own merits and the final decision will be solely in the hands of Sam's Pet Services. At least 48 hours notice will be given for any kind of cancellation, or the full cost will be charged and will be paid by the client to Sam's Pet Services. This 48 hours is so that time slot can be filled by someone else. If the client can adequately replace their own slot with someone else, of the same or higher value, that will suffice as reasonable grounds for a refund. Sam's Pet Services reserves the right to cancel the service if a client is found to be in breach of contract, in any way.

Our website, our name, our phone number and our logo are all property of Sam's Pet Services as are the photos displayed on our website. All rights are reserved. The use of our website and of our services indicate that you have read and agree to all of our terms and conditions.

These term and conditions will be updated when we see fit and it is the responsibility of you, the client to keep up to date with any changes made. This current edition of our Terms and conditions are valid and active as and from the 18th January 2023. Any further changes will be solely at the discretion of Sam's Pet Services.

I do not take any animals into my own home.

The only time I will ever take any pets into my home is under Casey's Clause, which is designed to provide the most comfortable end of life care to your pet. Only if the vets have declared that the pet is at the end of life and there is nothing else they can do, I will then allow them into my home, while we either (1) await your return from your holidays, or (2)we await their euthanasia date/time. I can only permit a maximum of three days for this wait time, as the pet in question will surely be suffering. We will remain in constant contact and an online video chat can be arranged to say goodbye. I will always accompany any pet for euthanasia, if in the unfortunate event of you not being able to return home. No pet will pass away alone, in my care if it can be helped at all.
